Ash Wednesday and Lent 2021

Ash Wednesday and Lent 2021

We are not going to be able to mark Ash Wednesday on 17th February as we usually do this year.

Therefore, here are some suggestions to use the season for reflection at home:

  1. The Church of England Lent Focus: Live Lent
    a) Print the Live Lent posteand put it in your window as a sign you are marking Lent.  You can find it here.
    b) Daily Live Lent reflections will be available every day.  Ask for these to be emailed to you here.
Alternatively you can buy the booklet from Church House Publishing: order by telephone on 01603 785923
(The reflections will also be available as a phone app and through smart speakers).
  2. An exploration of Lent through 46 objects Daily readings and reflections for Lent
Gordon Giles guides us on a spiritual journey through Lent using 46 everyday objects from our homes.  Buy direct from BRF or in Kindle or book form here
  3. CAFOD’s Walk for Water Challenge.
CAFOD, the Catholic aid agency that does brilliant work across the world, is challenging us to do a sponsored 10,000 steps every day through Lent.
The sponsorship you raise will go to help the world’s most vulnerable women, men and children. It could help to bring clean, fresh water to those that are thirsty, food to those that are hungry or shelter to those who don’t have a home.  More details can be found here
